Transform Transport Accra

Who We Are

Rethinking Urban Transport Through Cycling & Advocacy

Transform Transport Accra is a youth-led advocacy movement working to make Accra’s transport system safer, more inclusive, and environmentally sustainable. We promote micro-mobility solutions like cycling to address everyday mobility challenges in the city — from traffic congestion and pollution to poor infrastructure and limited public transport options.

We believe that people-powered change can transform how Accra moves.

Why We Care

The Problem With Mobility in Accra

Mobility in Accra is broken. Overcrowded, unreliable, and polluting transportation options dominate, and existing infrastructure leaves out the most vulnerable. While past investments in public transport have failed, we believe in a different future — one where cycling is safe, accessible, and empowering for all.
We’re advocating for a city built for people — not just cars.

What We Do

1. Tour Accra by Bike

Our flagship initiative promotes cycling as a form of sustainable tourism and everyday travel. Through guided tours of Accra’s cultural landmarks, we aim to cut emissions, connect communities, and spark interest in cycling infrastructure.

2. Education & Outreach

From school programs to webinars and competitions, we engage students, residents, and leaders in the benefits of active transport and climate-friendly mobility.

3. Policy Advocacy

We influence public opinion and policy by mobilizing citizens and partnering with institutions to push for bike lanes, safe roads, and green city planning.

4. Partnership Building

Collaborations with groups like GAYO, WRI Africa, UNEP, and Sambus Geospatial have helped us build powerful campaigns and real momentum.
